Nepal, a deeply spiritual place, has always been one of His Eminence’s favourite destinations. His Eminence regularly leads large groups of students on pilgrimage to Kathmandu and KECHARA has since established its first international centre – Kechara Lounge, Nepal – close to the world-famous Boudhanath Stupa.

KECHARA is now working towards establishing a retreat centre in the Kathmandu Valley – the next step in our efforts to spread the Dharma and lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa in this wonderful country. Located in a peaceful mountainous area in the southern Kathmandu Valley, the Nepal retreat centre is a branch of Kechara World Peace Centre, Kechara’s main retreat centre in Malaysia. The Nepal retreat centre will be a place for meditation, retreats, learning and personal development; a spiritual destination for pilgrims from all around the world in the country where Buddhism first came into being in this fortunate aeon.
